HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It is a revolutionary process for non-surgical skin tightening and is very effective in all kinds of conditions, be it aging, or after weight loss. The High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) device performs the same procedure a cosmetic surgeon would do but without the scalpel and the associated downtime. This treatment is between 30-60 minutes and has no downtime, causing only slight redness.

HOW IT WORKS
The high-intensity ultrasound passes through the surface of the skin and the inner layer of your skin and sends a direct energy into the tissues and muscles where collagen is present. This revives the collagen growth which fixes the skin delicately and bit by bit as the tissue memory is re-established.

THINGS TO KNOW
During the procedure, the HIFU device is passed over the treated area so that the high intensity focused ultrasound goes into the surface of the skin causing it to tighten. Because of this, there can be a slight redness for a couple of hours following the treatment. In rare cases, a slight swelling or delicacy to contact may be felt, which don’t last long.
Treating a single area can take between 30 and 45 minutes.
Treating face differs from treating the rest of the body with HIFU, needs different hand pieces and is more time consuming.
HIFU is not suitable for severe skin laxity and redundancy.
